V International Symposium on Oxidative Stress and Cardiovascular Diseases Confirmed!!! - 2016 Edition
We are pleased to announce the fifth edition of the event International Symposium on Oxidative Stress and Cardiovascular Diseases. This event has become a milestone in the national and international academic calendar in his last four editions, with dozens of renowned speakers from the fields of oxidative stress and cardiovascular physiology.

To mark the fifth year of the event, we had the idea of ​​expanding the target audience and attract greater participation of foreigners, especially because we have strong partnerships with Canadian research groups. The Cardiovascular Physiology Laboratory group has a long history of international cooperation with Canada, initially informally, and in the past few years, through the CAPES/ DFATD agreement.

This originated the idea of ​​the First Brazil-Canada Conference on Oxidative Stress, which will feature four Canadian speakers. Furthermore, there are also renowned speakers from South America as well as other states. There will be posters exhibition and the best works will compete for the Prize Professor Antonio Belló, founder of the laboratory and pioneer in the study of oxidative stress in UFRGS.

The IV Symposium in Oxidative Stress and Cardiovascular Diseases main objective is to provide an update of scientific knowledge in oxidative stress and cardiovascular diseases field for students and professors, as well as health professionals. We also aim to promote the internationalization of PhD Programms of Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, contributing for the regional scientific development. By bringing together professionals and students of this area of scientific research to reflect the current difficulties and challenges and outline strategies to overcome the same, this event aims to contribute to enhance the excellence of research carried out in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
New PhD Programm Subject " Biological Oxidations and Free Radicals of Oxygen"
It's being offered the subject "Biological Oxidations and Free Radicals of Oxygen" by the Physiology PhD Programm from July 20th until July 24th. The subject is presented by Prof. PhD Adriane Belló-Klein and this year will have the special guests Prof. PhD Daniele Mancardi (University of Turin) and Prof. PhD Susana Llesuy (University of Buenos Aires)

We would like to inform you that speaker Dr. Neelam Khaper will not be able to attend the event. Thus, for the opening lecture we will have the presence of Prof. Dr. Susana Llesuy (University of Buenos Aires), an authority in the area of ​​oxidative stress. Dr. Llesuy will present his lecture titled: "A novel and compact review on oxidative stress and antioxidants".

Speaker Changed - IV Symposium in Oxidative Stress and Cardiovascular Diseases
We would like to inform that the speaker Junichi Sadoshima would not attend to the event anymore. For the opening lecture we will count with Prof. PhD Susana Llesuy (University of Buenos Aires), an authority in the oxidative stress field. Prof. Susana will present her lecture entitled: Role of thiol groups in the cellular redox state"
